Cats and Dogs



  
 I want a guy like that...
 It’s hard to know, these days. We try to be so confident, so undecided, so professional.

Cats and Dogs. That’s really what it comes down to, and it’s not so much I am the cat and he is the dog, but the fact that, just like the Mars-Venus thing... Men and Women are definitely worlds apart. We want to understand them, and they want to understand us really, really badly.

We go to workshops, we buy endless amounts of books on relationships... some do nothing but be confused. Just when we think we have it figured out -- BAM! We don’t.

All anyone of us really wants is to be happy. For some of us that means marriage, for some being single -- some cannot figure it out, and flounder around wondering what it would be like to be on the other side. I think if you have experienced both sides and have some years under your belt maybe, just maybe, you have a little edge. Or so you think.

Then you get handed something out of the blue, and you say, “Why did I just get handed that?” And you have to repair, counsel, work, readjust and maybe even suffer before you can climb back on the damn horse. Some never climb again. They do not take that chance to love again or to put themselves out there again, and they seem ok with themselves, but I was told we are herd animals. We are meant to be with one another and share our lives and love with that special someone. Those of us who do climb back on wonder why we do, why does everyone keep telling me I am supposed to look at the big picture, but then the same day someone tells you live day to day. DOES THAT MAKE SENSE? Live day to day but look at the whole big picture... Ok, Cats and Dogs.

My dog is always happy. He loves me no matter what. No matter how late I come home, or if I am grumpy or happy or sad, he still loves me. I want a guy like that... one that loves me unconditionally. I think we all do. Some already have that, and need to sit down right now and say their thanks about it, and appreciate those things maybe they take for granted. I think I will go spend some time with my dog today -- take him for a ride in my truck. That’s his favorite thing to do.
